Afterword

During the writing of this book I realized that I have been using, refining, and teaching the dice oracle for over ten years. It has connected people more closely to the vibrant, life-giving elements in the world around them and opened a window into the shifting patterns of fate. Now that it will reach an even wider audience, I have only one piece of advice left to give: start a journal.

It can be a good idea to keep a journal of your results when working with any divination system, and certainly with this oracle. Not only will this show you which readings you received over time, but it can also help to record your own interpretations of the pairings. The notes on the previous pages are not the final answer—the reading is “Greater/Lesser X over Y,” and the final conclusion that you come to from there can be entirely from your own feelings on each combination. As you work further with the elements, you might find that you prefer the meeting of physical Fire and Water more than using their magical correspondences, or a mix of both. This is all valuable information to keep in a journal.

Using dice for divination in combination with books is a practice that goes back millennia. I hope that the oracle will bring you wisdom and joy while lighting the path ahead for your own journey with the elements.
